Community Guidelines

Where Voices Unite for Recovery. No One Fights Alone.

The DARF Community is a compassionate, stigma-free space where individuals affected by addiction find belonging, support, and strength. These rules exist to protect every member and uphold the dignity that is central to our mission. By participating, you agree to honour these principles.

  1. Respect & Dignity for All. Treat every member with compassion and respect. Addiction is not a moral failure. Discrimination, bullying, hate speech, or personal attacks based on race, gender, religion, background, or recovery status will not be tolerated.
  2. Maintain Strict Confidentiality. What is shared in the community stays in the community. Never disclose personal stories, identities, or recovery details of other members outside this space. Trust is the foundation of healing.
  3. Zero Tolerance for Substance Promotion. Do not promote, glorify, solicit, or share information about obtaining illicit substances. This includes drug-related slang used to encourage use, sourcing advice, or any content that undermines recovery.
  4. Safe & Stigma-Free Dialogue. Engage in honest, open conversation without judgement. Use supportive language, listen actively, and create space for others to share. Avoid shaming language or unsolicited medical advice.
  5. Protect Vulnerable Members. Be mindful that members are at varying stages of recovery. Avoid graphic descriptions of substance use or trauma that may be triggering. Use content warnings when discussing sensitive experiences.
  6. No Misinformation or Unverified Claims. Share only accurate, evidence-based information about addiction, treatment, and recovery. Do not spread unverified health claims, conspiracy theories, or misleading content about substances or therapies.
  7. No Solicitation or Commercial Activity. The community is not a marketplace. Unauthorized promotion of products, services, fundraisers, or external organizations is prohibited. Approved DARF partnerships will be clearly identified.
  8. Engage Constructively. Contribute positively to discussions. Disruptive behaviour, spam, inflammatory content, and off-topic posts that detract from the community's recovery mission will be removed.
  9. Seek Professional Help When Needed. Peer support is invaluable, but it is not a substitute for professional treatment. If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact DARF's support team or local emergency services immediately.
  10. Accountability & Enforcement. Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal at the discretion of DARF moderators. All members share responsibility for upholding these standards and reporting breaches respectfully.

Our Shared Commitment

By joining the DARF Community, you pledge to uphold these rules and contribute to a safe, healing environment. Together, we fortify the path to recovery.
